Went climbing outdoors for the first time with some folks who were kind enough to loan me gear and it was great. Also trying to work on shooting and editing because I got tired of the way iPhone cameras look.

Today’s view of Mont-Blanc at 3800m. Followed by cheese after.

Birthday climb in Savoie with more of France to come! I really thought I was going to die on this via ferrata but I think I’m ready for outdoor climbing now.

My girlfriend and I saw you from across the clearing and just really dig your vibe, Arenal.

Lake Botos, a caldera in Poás Volcano National Park. I need to do more hiking regularly because this elevation and mountainous-ness is killing me.

$

Muddy hike after all the rain in GSNA. Really enjoying coming back here every time we do, and got to see their mesquite savannah regrowth project they’re working on there. Very different kind of growth than what I’m used to in the Hill Country! Also lovely wildflowers after the rain.

Had a great joint bach trip in Charleston with many of my best friends. I tricked them in to swimming in a very cold pool, walked on the beach, saw dolphins, and went to the aquarium.

Year 2 at Battle of the Boil. Another year where my favorite teams’ crawfish don’t even hit the podium. But hey, at least it was all I could eat.

Late night latte art competition at the flavor corner™️. I also ate a churro relleno con cajeta.

We saw beautiful snow capped mesas (I hope) in A:shiwi territory. The whole day before we’d been forced inside by rains in Sedona, but at the higher elevations it snowed. We took a state road through Arizona that eventually forced us over many dangerous potholes and mountain passes. The choice to take this route was worth it for showing us these sights we never would’ve otherwise.

So many direwolves in La Brea! While in LA we saw an interesting set of LACMA exhibits including Korean modern art, and are incredible Thai food from a recommendation on wikitravel. Also ate tons of Korean and tacos around Koreatown.

$

Ate crazy good tacos all across Arizona but I have to say the best experience was having fry bread for the first time in Phoenix. I got to learn a lot about the Tohono O’odham nation that ran the Fry Bread House at the Heard Museum as well. I also had the best cabeza and barbacoa tacos in Tucson, with particularly good beef cheek barbacoa at Tacos Chiwas.

Took a short hike at the base of Tortugas mountain until it started raining on us. It’s been really crazy for me to see how mountainous the Southwest is after being in Texas for so long.

Channeling my best Bourdain by eating four different dishes in a hot night market and sweating profusely.

Saturdillos are for the boys! Got turned on to an armadillo race after biking to a new brewery, definitely worth the pain of it being over 100 today.

Had an exciting coursed meal for my birthday with a bunch of great takes on Mexican dishes. This dish holding dragonfruit and melon sorbets was one of my favorite little presentations.

Tried to bike around some of the missions before a big rain storm opened up and it didn’t work. Skinned my knees and got drenched before I got home. But then got a nice photo snapped through the window at San José by my mom.

I’ve wanted to upload more pictures recently without worrying about the quality of a “feed”. I want to take more photos without worrying if the experience is cool enough to share. So I decided on a finstagram without the gram, so I could just collect my experiences and sights for myself, and share them.
